Clean Economy Cooperative and Investment Fund
The arguments for Clean Economy Cooperative and its
associated investment fund are compelling.
To begin with, we see it as financing a wide range of projects — certainly clean energy with PACE and its alternatives, but also ecological restoration and local economic development. But to do this, even just in New Jersey, we are going to need a substantial organization. And we simply can’t do this as a small 501(c)(3).
That’s why we think it makes sense to spin off a project development cooperative, that originates projects, aggregates them locally, and uses local investment to make significant improvements in disadvantaged communities. We need individuals who are self-starters, capable of playing a wide range of entrepreneurial and leadership roles, and willing to bet on a better future for themselves and for their fellow citizens.
